{Renewal}

The Power of the Heroine ~ feminine power from the depths of the inner world assists in accepting and understanding the mysterious nature of life.

Flora

Surrounded by Fauns, Flora celebrates the arrival of spring. Blossoms appear on the trees and the renewal of life is visible throughout the countryside. Set in the verdant landscape, a rotunda provides a place to quietly reflect on the beauty and vibrancy of the new season. The time to pay tribute to growth and prosperity has arrived. As a fertility goddess, Flora gave Juno magic herbs to help her conceive. Juno fell pregnant and gave birth to Mars, the god whose name is linked to the month of March and the arrival of spring.

When Flora is chosen she announces a season of renewal, bringing the spirit of growth and success to a new project or relationship. She brings a new awareness of personal values and a feeling of security. This may also suggest a renewed physical awareness, causing you to feel more sensual and energetic. The appearance of Flora predicts the entry into a season of prosperity and resourcefulness.

Feminine Wisdom

Our life force is a renewable resource which flowers when it is time for the new cycle to take hold in the world.

Full Moon in Aquarius

This Full Moon is also known as a Blue Moon, being the second full Moon to take place in Leo/Aquarius

Image

This AQUARIUS FULL MOON has an extra bit of creative magic with the Sun in Leo. The time is potent to follow our hearts to create new pathways. There is a simultaneous shedding and emerging as we focus to ground our visions into form. Some deep activations happening as well so we must move with the changes, allow what wants to come forth, and trust our inner knowing and guidance.

Moon in Aquarius — Sun in Leo

Aquarius is the water bearer – stands for a bridge between Heaven and Earth – the emanating divine flowing waters. The Moon is in the airy power sign of Aquarius, symbolizing the Cosmic Mind.  Just as the archetypes reflect the basic principles of the Divine Order, the Aquarian Mind reflects that higher order of thinking. The Leo Sun this full Moon is on the royal star, Regulus, located at the Lion’s Heart. When the Sun is on Regulus, it bestows power, authority and honor to those worthy of them. So let us be worthy to take on our own authority in the world. Let us own our inner Queen and inner King.

This 2nd Leo/Aquarius Full Moon activates the energy of one of the four ancient Persian Royal Stars, considered to be sentinels of humanity’s evolution.

Aquarius offers us freedom at the same time as it demands that we find ways to work together for the benefit of all humanity. We need that larger vision if we want to evolve humanity beyond our culture of violence, self-centeredness and domination into one of peace, partnership and creativity. The energy of Leo is heart-centered and heart-felt.  Leo’s confidence comes from knowing what lies at the heart of life—creativity, love, generosity to others and a deep sense of Self. The royal nature of Leo stems from this self-confidence in Life—when we realize that we are responsible for the choices we make in our lives. We are not powerless, even in the face of oppression. Leo is the power of fire, of spirit, of creativity.  Fire consumes, warms, and illuminates; fire symbolizes purification and transformation. The alchemical fires transform our consciousness, opening us to deeper insights and wider understanding.

Blue Moon

A Blue Moon signals the completion of a process which began with the first Full Moon of the two. The time is potent to follow our hearts to create new pathways

An astrological Blue Moon is a rare thing and something to be noted. It occurs when the Moon is full twice in a solar month, giving us two successive Full Moons in the same zodiac sign. The second of those Moons is a Blue Moon. The next such moon isn’t until June 2016.

The July 22 Aquarius Full Moon occurred at 1 degree Aquarius (Moon) and 1 degree Leo (Sun)

August 20  Full Moon occurs at 29 degrees Aquarius (Moon) and 29 degrees Leo (Sun)

~

Throughout the intervening month there’s been a lot of pressure needing release and emotions needing acknowledgement. This is a Moon which seeks to empower us to make positive choices and significant changes in our lives. She sees our potential and shines upon each one of us equally, knowing that within every individual lies the possibility of change and growth, no matter who, where or what we are, what we have done or what we believe.

At times like this we have a golden opportunity for growth and transformation, a chance to release the fetters that keep us constricted and bound. We have an opportunity to ‘do’ life in a different way, and the more of us that can do that, the greater the potential for inner shifts to be reflected in wider societal and global change. The next two weeks will bring a dramatic appearance of new spiritual qualities and events, and those who go deep and understand the nature of the subconscious mind will find new power and answers to the Great Mystery we’ve all been exploring for several months. Since Jupiter is firmly in Cancer, we can use emotional intelligence as we explore and find truth in new cares, new feelings, and a new sense of stability.

As with last month’s Lunations, family and personal feelings will run strong, so be clear about what you’re feeling as a result of the facts you’re seeing or the actions you’ve taken or are taking. Some may experience impatience and frustration at the pace of the process, while others will glimpse a new identity suddenly revealed that revolutionizes the life.

With any full moon phase, it brings you in touch with emotions and feelings as well as anything that has been lingering in the shadows within the subconscious mind becomes illuminated.

Aquarius Full Moon Apothecary Suggestions

Gemstones, Essential Oils & Flower Essences

Leo is associated with the heart, spine, and hair while Aquarius is associated with the calves, ankles, peripheral circulatory system, and the body’s bioenergetics. Pay extra attention to these areas of the body around the time of this Full Moon.

Aquarius Full Moon GemStones

Pearl, Moonstone, Tektite, Aquamarine, Lapis, Amazonite, Carnelian

Sweet Marjoram Essential Oil

Associated with eternal peace and happiness, quintessential Aquarian ideals, sweet marjoram is known for its antispasmodic and circulation-enhancing properties. With its pacifying fragrance and tension-calming effects, this essential oil may help to calm an overly stimulated nervous system. Use in a diffusor, smell a few drops from the bottle and/or add to some almond massage oil.

 Buttercup Flower Essence

When you need some support stoking the inner flame of self-value, buttercup flower essence may be of benefit. It’s especially good for periods when we are judging ourselves by external markers of success that, in turn, degrade our sense of self-worth. It helps shift the source of light from the unreliable-without to the eternally-sustaining-within. (Flower essences are made from flower-infused water and work energetically to restore emotional and mental balance. You can find them in natural food stores or holistic pharmacies.)

Astrological Anatomy ~ Solar Energy/Lunar Needs

The full expression of your Sun Sign provides you with the energy to move ahead in your life. When this expression gets blocked it can show up in your body with physical symptoms in the areas associated with each sign. The same goes for your Moon Sign; when your Moon’s needs are not being met, you may find yourself having symptoms in those areas associated with your Moon Sign. (See chart)

For example, if your Sun is in Aries, you’ll read “Solar Energy” and if your Moon is in Aries you’ll read “Lunar Needs”. We tend to be more conscious of our Solar Energy than we are of our Lunar Needs.

Angel Tarot

Major & Minor Arcana

IMG_20130810_125703_665-1

Tarot was originally two sets of cards, the Major & Minor Arcana.

The two sets were later combined into the now-traditional 78 cards.

The Major Arcana consists of 22 cards describing major life events and turning points in our lives. These cards also represent the different stages from childhood to old age. Each is numbered, as is traditional in Tarot, and features an Archangel who is associated with the cards message. The element of Spirit is represented by Archangels in the Major Arcana.

The Minor Arcana represents more ordinary day-to-day life events and is divided into four suits or elements: Fire, Water, Air & Earth. The elements are represented in the Angel Tarot Deck as;  Fire- Dragons, Water- Mermaids/Mermen, Air- Unicorns, Earth- Fairies. The Minor Arcana cards are numbered I (Ace) through 10, plus the court cards — a Page (card 11), a Knight (card 12), a Queen (card 13), and a King (card 14) for each suit.

 Fire

IMG_20130810_123537_820-1Aries, Leo, Sagittarius ~ Sun, Mars, Jupiter

Ideas, Inspiration

 Dragons

The Suit of Fire (Red) represents our ideas and inspirations. It’s where we feel passion, display amazing creativity, and set our dreams into motion. The fire element reflects our career, art, adventure, risk-taking, and self-development. Fire can also represent any of your passions. Dragons are the symbol for the Suit of Fire, because of their fiery nature and their iconic place in our imaginations.

In a traditional Tarot deck Fire is represented as the Wand set and in the Angel Tarot deck, the element of Fire is represented by Dragons, the cards are labeled as “Six of Fire”, “Seven of Fire” and so forth. Picture the “fire” breathing image of a Dragon as well as the Chinese Astrology depiction of the Dragon behavior. Fire is action oriented.

 ~

Water

IMG_20130810_122824_018-1Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces ~ Moon, Venus, Neptune, Pluto

Emotions

 Mermaids

The Suit of Water (Turquoise) represents the depth of our emotions. It’s where we fall in love, nurture our children, and open our hearts to deep feelings. The water cards represent love, romance, relationships, family, dreams, and desires. The suit of water also represents the depths of our intuitive and psychic gifts. The beautiful and watery realm of Mermaids and Mermen represent the Suit of Water, because of these creatures’ ability to plunge deep into the hidden worlds of the emotions and the unconscious.

Water is represented by using Mermaids as the star of this part within the set. In a traditional Tarot it would be known as “Cups”, here its been changed to “Water”: “Seven of Water”, “Eight of Water” etc. The visions of the Mermaids in blue sparkling water associate with emotions, feeling and needs. The Mermaids dive into the depths of water or in this case assists us with getting to the core of an issue internally in order to manifest our desires.

 ~

—Air

IMG_20130810_122111_625-1Gemini, Libra, Aquarius ~ Mercury, Venus, Uranus

Intellect

 Pegasus, Unicorn

The Suit of Air (Blue) represents our intellect. It’s where we make decisions, analyze situations, and give voice to our thoughts. The suit of air represents justice, truth, ideals, the legal system, communication and other intellectual areas. As fear and worry generally live in the mind, the suit of air can also involve struggles and concerns in our lives. To represent the Suit of Air, Unicorns were chosen because of their tranquil essence and symbolize peaceful thoughts.

As for the Sword set in a traditional Tarot which would be the element of ‘Air’, in Angel Tarot it is represented by Unicorns. “Five of Air”, “Six of Air” etc. Imagine a Unicorns horn as a symbol of the Sword. Unicorns are airy and whimsical just like the element of Air which also represents thought and mental processes.

 ~

Earth

IMG_20130810_121832_671-1Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn ~ Venus, Saturn, Mercury

Material world, objects, issues

 Fairies

The Suit of Earth (Green) represents the material world, in which we deal with making a living, caring for our bodies, and looking after mother earth. Aspects of our lives represented by this suit include money, work, home, security, health, resources, education, society, and the environment. For the Earth Suit, the realm of Fairies were chosen because of their magical manifesting abilities and their close connection to our planet, Earth.

The Pentacles reside in the Earth element in a traditional Tarot, but in the Angel Tarot deck the images are of Fairies in garden like atmospheres, “Three of Earth”, “Four of Earth”. etc. Fairies are outside in nature and assist us with concrete needs such as finances, home and sometimes obtaining love.

~

Spirit

IMG_20130810_120759_083-1The beginning and ending of all things

“5th Element ~ Quinta Essentia”

The Major Arcana (Purple) represents the different stages from childhood to old age. Each is numbered, as is traditional in Tarot, and features an Archangel who is associated with the cards message. The element of Spirit is represented by Archangels in the Major Arcana.

FIRE

Fire1Spirit Warmth & Energy

 Aries — Leo — Sagittarius

Fire is associated with strength, activity, blood and life-force. It is also seen has highly purifying and protective, consuming impurities and driving back the darkness. Fire is traditionally seen as the most rarefied and spiritual of the physical elements because of its masculine properties (which were superior to female properties), its lack of physical existence, its production of light, and its transformative power when it comes in contact with more physical material.

Fire is the element of fullness and life, and it is closely associated with the Sun. Fire is active, confident, and assertive. People with a strong emphasis of the fire element are spontaneous and impulsive, they apply their energies wholeheartedly. Their emotional response is quick and they have a lively imagination.  The fire signs can’t sit around and wait for something to happen, and have to get up and do something. This makes them the most daring signs. They tend to have a lot of energy, and they tend to be more enthusiastic and positive than the other signs. They’re also more impulsive and hot-headed though. The fire signs are Aries, which is the most energetic of the three; Leo, which is the most warm of the three; and Sagittarius, which is the most optimistic of the three.

EARTH

Earth1Material, Possessions, Security

Taurus — Virgo — Capricorn

Earth is the element of stability, groundedness, fertility, materiality, potential and stillness. Earth can also be an element of beginnings and endings, or death and rebirth, as life comes from the ground and then decomposes back into earth after death. Earth corresponds with midnight, winter, and the new moon. While these things might represent barrenness, more often they are representative of potential and transformation, the point where the old gives way to the new; the empty fertility ready to feed new creations. Earth is stable, practical, and sensible. Earthy people react quietly and slowly. They apply themselves with endurance. Emotionally they are deeply rooted and slow to change. The earth signs have patience, and they prefer to wait, letting things happen in their own time, instead of pushing the matter. This can make them stuck in their ways at times, and they can be the most closed of the signs. They prefer to have a calm, stable life, and are the most hard-working. The earth signs are Taurus, which is the most immoveable of the three; Virgo, which is the most practical of the three; and Capricorn, which is the hardest worker of the three.

 Qualities: Cold, Dry

Gender: Feminine (passive)

Elemental: Gnomes

Golden Dawn direction: North

Golden Dawn color: Green

Symbols: Salt, Stones, Herbs, Cords

Herbs: Fern, Vervain, Primrose, Mugwort, Honeysuckle

Planets: Venus, Saturn, Mercury

Sun Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Season: Winter

Time of Day: Midnight

 ~

AIR

Air1Communication, Intellect

Gemini — Libra — Aquarius

Air is the element of new beginnings, intelligence, youth, increase and creativity. As such, it is associated with spring, the waxing moon, and sunrise. Things are growing warmer and brighter, while plants and animals give birth to a new generation. Air is intellectual, sociable, and open. Airy people are quick and animated. They apply their energies in very diverse ways. They tend to intellectualize their feelings and expectations. The air signs experience the world through their minds, and they can overdo it more than the other signs. They love conversation for the mental stimulation, and this makes them the most sociable signs, as well as the most open. They can be too aloof or detached at times, and have a hard time with emotions. The air signs are Gemini, which is the most adaptable of the three; Libra, which is the most fair of the three; and Aquarius, which is the most inventive of the three.  Largely intangible and without permanent form, air is an active, masculine element, superior to the more material elements of water and earth.

 Qualities: Warm, Moist

Gender: Masculine (active)

Elemental: Sylphs (tiny winged creatures)

Golden Dawn direction: East

Golden Dawn color: Yellow

Symbols: Feather, Incense, Wand, Oils

Herbs: Clover, Lavender, Mistletoe, Meadowsweet, Sage

Planets: Mercury, Venus, Uranus

Sun Signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Season: Spring

Time of Day: Dawn

 ~

WATER

Water1Emotion, Nurturing, Intuition

Cancer — Scorpio — Pisces

Water is the element of emotion, the unconscious, as opposed to the conscious intellectualism of air, and wisdom, particularly the wisdom of age. Water is one of two elements that have a physical existence that can interact with all of the physical senses. Water is still considered less material (and thus superior) to earth because possesses more motion and activity than earth. It represents a time past the peak of livelihood, moving toward the end of the cycle. Water is changeable, emotional, and sensitive. People with a strongly emphasized water element are feeling types and are very sensitive. Their imaginative and emotional lives are deep and rich. The water signs experience the world through their feelings, and they can have a hard time sifting through them properly, becoming overwhelmed by their emotions. They are the most sensitive of the signs, to their own problems and to other people’s. The water signs are Cancer, which is the most nurturing of the three; Scorpio, which is the most intense of the three; and Pisces, which is the most compassionate of the three.

 Qualities: Cold, Moist

Gender: Feminine (passive)

Elemental: Nymphs (similar to water faeries), Undines (water-based nymphs)

Golden Dawn direction: West

Golden Dawn color: Blue

Symbols: Chalice, Goblet, Cauldron, Mirror

Herbs: Jasmine, Gardenia, Rose, Yarrow, Irish Moss, Sandalwood

Planets: Moon, Venus, Neptune,Pluto,

Sun Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

Season: Fall

Time of Day: Dusk

SPIRIT

Spirit15th Element — Quinta Essentia

Western traditional sources also take into account a fifth element, the ‘quinta essentia’. This very simply describes the soul or the spiritual being of a person. It stands apart from the other four elements and is not depicted in the horoscope. This is why it is frequently overlooked. It takes us beyond the doctrine of the four elements and their application in the field of astrology. It hints at the freedom of man and reminds us of the great mystery of the eternal.

The element of spirit does not have the same arrangements of correspondences as the physical elements, since spirit is not physical. Various different systems may associate planets, tools and so-forth to it, but such correspondences are far less standardized than those of the other four elements. The element of spirit goes by several names, the most common being spirit, ether or aether and quintessence, which is literally Latin for “fifth element.” There is also no standard symbol for spirit, although circles are common. Eight-spoked wheels and spirals are also sometimes used to represent spirit.

Spirit is a bridge between the physical and the spiritual. In cosmological models, spirit is the transitory material between the physical and celestial realms. Within the microcosm, spirit is the bridge between body and soul.
